Hannibal
Community Church
TO KNOW HIM AND MAKE HIM KNOWN
Our History
The Hannibal Community Church was founded in 1816 as the Congregational Church of Hannibal meeting at the school house. In 1817 the church decided to unite with the Presbytery of Onondaga, but it was later decided to unit with the Presbytery of Oswego, which was finalized in 1823. In 1826 the current church building was constructed after which the church Manse (Parish House) was constructed adjacent to the church. An addition to the church was added in 1859. In 1870 it was voted to dissolve the Congregational Church and reorganized as the Presbyterian Church of Hannibal. In the ensuing years the church also became affiliated with the Iroquois Association of Baptist Churches and finally in 2014 became an Associated Church with Elim Fellowship. For a brief period the name of the church was changed from Hannibal Community Church to God's Vision Christian Church, but in 2016 it was changed back to Hannibal Community Church. Interestingly, though the course of the churches history, it has been mostly known as the Hannibal Community Church.
